High School Program

HIGHLIGHTS
Our high school program is designed to prepare learners for a successful university experience anywhere in the world. We focus on the long term goal of developing a generation who cares about the sustainability of the world, a generation of self-regulated leaders who are capable of living a passionate and purposeful life. Learners are constantly working on projects to come up with innovative solutions for real world problems of sustainability. This process is anchored in the development of a STEAM mindset, project management and forward thinking skills.
University Preparatory Program
To better prepare learners for university, we provide a college counselor to guide learners in their university research and admission process. Introducing learners to higher education, the learners are exposed to local and International universities, along with assistance to better meet admission requirements by giving application essay workshops and alumni sharing sessions. As a result of our comprehensive program, our alumni have been accepted in over 15 countries, in 290 Universities both national and throughout the world.
Credit System
By applying a credit system, we give learners opportunities to choose their learning path and be better prepared for transition into University. The learners may take 1 of the 3 majors offered:
Advanced Placement Courses
HighScope High School provides opportunities for learners to get a head start in universities abroad. The Advanced Placement (AP) program is a rigorous academic program that exposes high school learners to college-level coursework.
One great benefit of taking AP exams is the opportunity to earn college credit and placement. The AP Exam score is recognized in many universities worldwide (universities in the USA and over 600 universities in more than 55 countries outside of the USA) for admission, credit and placement.
Our high school program offers 11 AP (Advanced Placement) courses, which are equivalent to first year college level subjects. Learners may take AP Courses to earn college credit and placement; however, they can also take those courses to challenge themselves with college level work and explore their interests.
Ethical Leadership Development
Learners are given plentiful opportunities to develop future-oriented life skills such as Ethical Leadership. A learner can choose to start and lead their own club, be CEO of their own Virtual Company, be Director of their own cause in Model United Nations, and various other leadership roles that they can assume throughout their learning journey.

The Advisory Program is led by 2-3 passionate teachers with a group of up to 25 learners, that consists of grades 10, 11, and 12, who meet on a daily basis for 30 minutes. This program provides a caring environment for monitoring the learners’ progress towards their goals, including academic guidance and social-emotional support. Learners are given opportunities to discuss any concerns – academic, personal, and social–with the advisors. As this program takes place every day, learners have opportunities to interact with the same group of learners to reinforce learning about themselves, as well as aspects that promote them to be responsible adults, such as values, self-esteem, and goal setting. This program also provides learners with university preparatory and career-related exposure. Attendance and participation in the program are part of the graduation requirements.

In order to gain university exposure from the early years, Kasih Baptist high school implements the Credit System. Credits are computed in terms of units.
The number of credits taken influences the daily schedule of the student, thus enriching the student through planning, carrying out the planning, and, during the advisory, reviewing and acquiring support for a successful continuation of the student’s academic career. We offer this credit system within the curriculum. One unit represents approximately 200 minutes per week for one school year.
In other words, when a student takes one course for 200 minutes per week for one academic year, it is equivalent to one credit. Each subject offers credit for the students who take that subject. The three types of credit are:
- 5 credits for 1 semester
- 5 credits for 1 academic year
- 1 credit for 1 academic year
From the Elementary Program to the High School program, Kasih Baptist School implements a dual language program. The language of instruction used is both English & Indonesian. These two languages are used in an academic context (academic language) and a social context (social language).
In an academic context, there are several subjects delivered in English & there are other subjects delivered in Indonesian. Examples of subjects delivered in Indonesian are Indonesian Language, Religion & Social Studies (IPS & PPKN) lessons, while subjects other than the 3 subjects above are delivered in English.
In the social context, Kasih Baptist School has a Language of the Day program. Indonesian & English are spoken alternately at socialization times and morning meetings, for example Monday in English, Tuesday in Indonesian, and so on. With the implementation of the Dual Language Program, students will be proficient in two languages at once, both academically and socially.
We classify majors into three courses of study:
- Math and Science
- Technical and Performing Arts
- Business and Information Technology

Kasih Baptist High School
Students in high school age, are at a time when they will start thinking about and preparing for a future career. Besides that, more complex social challenges were present to color his life in finding identity. When schools become places that take up a lot of student time to prepare for their future, the school must be able to answer the challenges in preparing students both academically, skills and characters that lead them to be wise in their associations.
Curriculum
Reflecting on the challenges above, Kasih Baptist High School designed a Learning Curriculum that still focuses on character building with Christian values as outlined in the PROUD slogan, Proactive Responsibility , Obedient, Unity, Disipline. Furthermore, we merge through 10 Learner Profiles into each subject taught to students, so that the character of each student can be built through every student meeting together with teachers both at school and outside of school. We use this method to become a strategy in forming graduates who have good knowledge with adequate skills, and are supported by characters that can make graduates wise in preparing for their future.
Hopefully, Kasih Baptist High School graduate will be ready to face the challenges of the future, both in the work area and when they continue their education at the university level. Therefore, Kasih Baptist High School also keeps on trying and even now has been able to collaborate with several well-known universities in Indonesia, which then makes it easier for graduates to continue their education.
